DJ/Radio Producer-turned-Lawyer attempts to dress like a grown-up. Sometimes I comically fail. And I occasionally post fun stuff, like music videos, book-club reviews, or photos of beauty or oddity.
FYI: I was doing this entire blog from my Android phone, snatching moments out of my busy life for quick photos. But I hate auto-correct with a purple passion, so now I'm using the computer for most of the work. I am still using my phone for the photos, though. My photo sizes may be erratic, and the quality isn't stellar. I am not a professional blogger, and do not have time for lots of scenic poses with a great camera. I don't even own a great camera! However, I DO appreciate your continued feedback, even in the absence of photographic artistry.

One of these things is not like the other...

...one of these things is not the same.... Remember that ditty from "Sesame Street"? Yesterday's outfit:

FAIL. I'm having a tough time figuring out what jacket I can wear with this top... which is new and that I love:

This is proving challenging... as can be verified by a gander at my previous attempt at a top/jacket pairing, questionable at best, despite a perfect match on the colors:

See? So the plaid AND the beige don't work! But this top is so preeety! I'm going to have to poke around my closet and see what I can come up with.

Top: via TJ Maxx
Beige jacket: Talbot's Petite
Plaid jacket: Amanda Smith via consignment shop
Pants: Lane Bryant

  1. I like the cream jacket with this top -- which is very pretty, I agree. The light jacket pulls out the ivory in the top and it looks bright next to your face. What don't you love about it?

  3. I'm also liking the mixed pattern look! And you're right about the shirt--it's pretty and has a lovely neckline. I also have to agree with Patti--the beige jacket brings out the top's colors and offsets them beautifully!

  5. pretty colors in the top. do you have a dark brown bottom? that may go well with the first jacket. not sure you could get away with denim at work, but denim with a white blazer would be cute as well? i have pieces that i struggle with as well!

  7. Have you tried a green or yellow? How about a blue cardigan? Dark brown would bring out the blue more. It's a really cute top.
