Crappy Birthday to Me!

Let's see, I lost a hearing that I believe I should have won... and Hubby is stepping down his pain meds. He's been a bit testy today. *sigh* Guess reduced opiates will to that to someone. I remember a couple of nasty days what I ran out of Vicodin after knee surgery, so I have to remind myself to be patient.

Between my phone having somehow become more difficult to blog on (my original Droid was much easier than my current Droid 3), and the laptop requiring repair, my fabled return to regular blogging is likely to be put on hold again.

I'm writing this on Hubby's iPad, pecking out individual letters onscreen with a stylus. Hate it! So slow... and I can't use the regular internet Blogger, I have to use this stupid app, which isn't great for what i do. 

Unless...

I will try the Photobucket iPad app. Will html work like it does on Droid?

Now we are getting somewhere! These photos are actually from 5/24, and show my new (longer) navy pants from C.J. Banks and new top via Bon Ton.

As you can see, they need to be taken in at the waist! 

OK, I guess I will just have to pry the iPad away from Hubby and Stinky to use until my laptop gets fixed. At least a little....

Wardrobe Orphan

What happens when you adopt something appealing to you... but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the family?

This:



Yeah.

I fell in love with the pretty pale-mint color, and the brocade, when I was at the clothing orphanage (aka consignment shop).



It occurs to me... a bit late, I know... that the difficulty coordinating with other pieces just MIGHT be why it was in the orphanage to begin with. Like the child with severe emotional problems adopted by the well-intentioned, but woefully unequipped, hopeful parent.

But the papers have been finalized (aka it's been to the tailor), so I'm going to seek help for my new child.

I'm not even going to do the components run-down for Wednesday's outfit... it's just too depressing.

Totally New Outfit!!!

It's been ages since everything was new... I was so excited, I actually wore the same outfit two days in a row! Well, that and my back was killing me, so the easy availability of the clothes sitting on the chair was a deciding factor.



New jacket, taken in at the bust by my clever tailor... and a new top:



Even new pants, which I just got back from the tailor... she had to take in the waist:



I know the photo is horrible, but Freeda has been giving me a hard time about my too-short pants. She dragged me to the mall, and wrestled my credit card out of my purse. So, how is the length on the new pants?

I've been having a bit of fun with matchy-matchy in this outfit... just check out the jacket lining (ok, the flash changed the color a scoche):



Down to my toes in my new, expensive-as-heck, Naot sandals. OK, I confess that wanting to get blog shots of the matchy-matchy down to my toes, since I didn't think of it Monday, was another deciding factor in the Tuesday redux:

But the thrill of a whole new outfit is still there... eek!

Schitzoid Wardrobe... and Life

After work today:

I found myself complaining earlier today that all of the shopping I had done for "Spring clothes" seems to be money wasted... over the last month or two it has been either "sweater weather" or "premature summer"!

Oh, yeah! I know I've been off the blogosphere for a couple of months, but I've been pretty busy, and awfully worn-down. After running him around for several rounds of consultations with specialists, Hubby finally had a pretty intense neck surgery in late April. I've been doing all the home stuff (with varying degrees of "crack-house" ambiance), working-- of course, and fighting off various winter illnesses myself.

March 15, for example... I wore two sweaters because it was so miserably, unseasonably cold out:



A couple days later, desperately bored and wanting to urge spring on, I hit the local Bon-Ton with a fistful of coupons, and went to town:



And I found this beauty:



Just kidding... I only tried this on for funsies... that went back on the rack! But I did walk out with a huge bag of clothes. I also picked up a couple of goodies at Salvo. In early April, I went a bit nuts at a local consignment shop, but those goodies will be shown at a later time!

I took these April 8th, as you can see, it was chilly enough to require one of my new Bon-Ton tops with sleeves and a warm jacket... ugh!



 Like my pretty new top? Hubby approved.



These were taken April 30th, it was still bloody COLD!!!



Freeda's purged necklace matched this new top PERFECTLY!



I finally took a couple of days off in mid-April, so I could see my family for the first time in six months. I helped Freeda purge her closet by taking some stuff off her hands, and she took me to a firing range to shoot a pistol for the first time! And she talked me into getting a couple new pair of pants, that aren't so short as what I've been wearing... you will see those very soon!            

While I was on my "mini-vacation", I spent a lot of time with these two:

So Hubby is recuperating, and I'm trying to get back into my normal routine. At least as much as I can while Hubby still isn't much use around the house!
