DJ/Radio Producer-turned-Lawyer attempts to dress like a grown-up. Sometimes I comically fail. And I occasionally post fun stuff, like music videos, book-club reviews, or photos of beauty or oddity.
FYI: I was doing this entire blog from my Android phone, snatching moments out of my busy life for quick photos. But I hate auto-correct with a purple passion, so now I'm using the computer for most of the work. I am still using my phone for the photos, though. My photo sizes may be erratic, and the quality isn't stellar. I am not a professional blogger, and do not have time for lots of scenic poses with a great camera. I don't even own a great camera! However, I DO appreciate your continued feedback, even in the absence of photographic artistry.

One of My More Inspired Outfits

I've been combining this blouse and sweater for the last couple of winters, for a couple of very practical reasons: 1. I love the sweater, but it is a little too low-necked for me to wear to work on its own, and 2. the blouse is a little small on me... but I love, love LOVE the print!

I should have had my photo done earlier in the day, when the light was better and I was a little less rumpled! I tried something new today, and wore the necklace over the collar. Do you like it better this way?

Or how I normally wear it? This older photo also shows the beautiful colors off better:

A little something to pick up the gold accents in the necklace:

And the red ones in the blouse and necklace:

I found these at an "old-lady" shoe store. Every once in a while, I can scrounge up something good! They also had them in black... but those looked completely ordinary. The color makes these special, in my humble opinion.

Shirt: Liz Claiborne via consignment shop. I think it was $2!
Sweater: INC from Macy's
Pants: Lane Bryant
Necklace: Jasper's Den in Spring Grove, OH
Earrings: via M-I-L's purge
Shoes: Trotters via DeGaetano Shoes in Hornell, NY

  2. Gorgeous colors! So very pretty.

And I am a big fan of any old-lady shoe stores....I can't imagine how anyone can feel sexy when their feet hurt.

  3. Very nice look. Great layering and colors here. Good for you to find a way to make those two things that don't work for you on their own to make a great look together. Looks comfy too but very chic :)
    Shoes are so cute too.

  5. I like the way you styled the outfit. Very pretty colors on you. I think I like the necklace over the collar. It looks a bit more crisp while the other is more casual.

  11. You don´t look rumpled at all. It´s so cold over here that I would wear the necklace over the collar but I like both looks. Don´t feel hurt I´m sure the guys from Firmoo will show up. They just have to find you first. My sisters already ordered a few glasses cos they said I just have to pay the shipping costs. One of them doesn´t even need glasses!!

  16. What a great and creative solution... not only do you get to wear items that you don't often wear but love, but they look great on you. Doesn't get any better than that. Pretty use of the necklace, as well.
