1. How has your blog changed over the months/years you've been blogging?

I'm stealing some of Freeda's answers because they apply to me: It's only been a couple of months, so I don't know! I'm realizing the importance of quality photos and need to learn more about how to do them properly.

2. What was one thing you did wrong in the beginning and how have you changed that?

Posting a listing of garments and origins. I initially just wove it into the text. I'm also more specific than I was at first- ie: now I say "Goodwill" instead of "thrift shop" because I want to highlight the goodies one can pick up at charity shops.

3. When you visit a blog what's the greatest turn off?

Freeda's answer: Too many photos. Too much narrative. Too many ads. Too busy of a layout. I just like short and sweet and GENUINE. My add: runway or catalog shots instead of the items on the actual blogger. I want to see how it looks on a real person.

4. How did you find your voice?

I'm still working on it. I play around with themes on some of my posts... spooky on "Purple People Eater", a spy theme on "Day 3 of my Mission...", therapy-speak on "It's Hot Then it's Cold". Sometimes I'm self deprecating, sometimes reflective.... I guess some would think my blog is all over the place- but I suppose I am, too.

5. If you had three pieces of advice to give to a new blogger what would those be?

Totally stealing Freeda's answer here:

1. Have a sense of proportion. And make sure that you're not neglecting your spouse, kids, job, etc. I read that some bloggers put as many hours into their blog as a part or even fulltime job!!

2. Don't think you'll get an income out of it. I don't believe this is a "career move", with RARE exceptions.

3. Don't give up! There's a lot of value in this format for normal people living normal lives, getting real feedback that will help you look (and feel) better every day.
