Tardis Blue

I set actually foot in the gym for the first time in over a month... and I saw an exhibit of artwork by high school students as I was walking to the weight machines. I absolutely loved this one:
 

Saturday night, I went to my friends' variety show, then to a late-night nosh. It was pointed out to me by one of the three Whovians at the table that my shirt is a perfect "Tardis Blue":



Even normal people complimented me on the color! And at the show, I got a lot of compliments on this beauty:



These earrings are the best I can do for the necklace... "inoffensive" is all that can be said, really:



My outfit only "kind of" follows this rule:

The shirt and the pants would work, but I would prefer a cross-body bag and running shoes. I suppose the flats aren't too bad, anyway... but I picked them to be cute, not for running:

Hot Babe... or Cool Chick?

I went into work on Tuesday, dressed for fuzzy winter weather:



And I was too hot... that is so rare, it's pretty much unheard of. As is the step I took next:



That heavens I wore a jacket that could actually close! I had to button the bottom, even though the jacket is still a bit snug around the hips, because I didn't want my navel ring making an unscheduled appearance. But I did have some accessories I actually wanted to be visible to the public:



Finally! I have a decent photo of my cool new Christmas prezzie:



The one bit of color in the outfit, I also get a kick out of the echoing of the circles on the earrings:



I've had the jacket taken in, but 6 lbs. down, and it's looking big on me! My prim courtroom look for Wednesday:



Which only covered my rock-chick-ish in-office ensemble:



What stinks is that I was too warm yesterday, and told it was going to be warmer, so I deliberately dressed lighter. And was freezing! I just want winter to be over... I need to be in my kayak!

I noticed that I've been wearing my hematite accessories a lot lately:



I actually didn't realize that my nails matched my accessories until one of my girlfriends pointed it out.



Well, it's time for me to crash... early day tomorrow. At least I'm caught up on blogging for the moment!

Dowdy Days

Friday was both busy and dowdy, so no photos to offend your eyes... but I captured Monday's dowdiness in all it's glory:



The good news it that I had my new pants taken in, and they are already too big again... I've lost over 5 lbs! The outfit itself didn't get any more interesting close up, though:



See what I mean? Blah. I was running a bit behind that morning, as usual, and grabbed for quick accessories:



I thought I was being clever by echoing the shape of the pendant... but the mismatch of gold tones bugged me a little:



Or am I just being bizarre?


But at least I wasn't completely invisible... I stopped into the pub and and had a nice chat with a friend I haven't seen in awhile.

Book Club Night

We read a novel based on the couple, Henry Rathbone and Clara Harris (spoilers, darling), who accompanied President and Mrs. Lincoln to a play one fateful evening at Ford's Theater (background for the non-U.S.-based readers).

To be perfectly frank, the history is interesting... but the book was a bit of a slog. Hard to get through, it drags in many parts... but at least I had fun chatting away with the ladies!

And I finished up the FABruary challenge! Thursday's theme was "Shades of Grey". Easy-peasy:



I decided to keep the neckline simple, so I did not wear the pendant this time:



But I did want a little sparkle:



I'm trying to decide if the look of the hemline, shoes, and contrasting socks is dorky or cool. Your thoughts?

Stinky Downloaded Malware Again

Which is why my posts are behind again *sigh*. My next computer is going to be a Mac....

Anyway, I was finishing up the FABruary Style Challenge... but Wednesday's theme of "Sheer" in New York, in court, in the middle of bitter winter ain't happening. I guess you can tell that an Aussie came up with this challenge! I decided to use Sunday's theme, since I didn't do it then: "Stripes + Pattern".

I actually used my Rosetta Stone print scarf over the belt I normally wear with this top. It was a look definitely designed to be worn with something over it... the back looks pretty silly!

For a bit of extra pattern, I threw these on:



I don't normally like to wear tall-soled shoes with shorter pants, but the weather was so nasty that the thick soles kept my hemline and feet dry!
