The weather is blessedly unseasonably warm, so I've been putting off the closet sort/rotation until there is a greater need for sweaters. The only downside is that I'm pretty bored with my wardrobe:
Aaaaand... thanks to Hubby's superb photographic skills... I have become a "little person"! IRL, I'm 5'7" on my best day. Yikes!
But at least I have some new goodies to add to the mix, thanks to Hubby's mom's "urge to purge"
The chain is too long for my short torso, so the pendant hits at an awkward spot, right in my cleavage. Knotting the chain helps, but I keep having to redo it.
Pretty simple earrings to not detract from the necklace:
I didn't realize it may rain today, I will have to be careful with this beautiful suede:
Top: Liz & Co via JC Penney
Jacket: Talbot's Petite
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Trotters via DeGaetano's in Hornell, NY (now defunct)
Earrings: Lia Sophia
Necklace: gift from my mother-in-law.
DJ/Radio Producer-turned-Lawyer attempts to dress like a grown-up. Sometimes I comically fail. And I occasionally post fun stuff, like music videos, book-club reviews, or photos of beauty or oddity.

Hiding from "Black Friday"
Hubby and I spent the entire weekend at his mom and stepdad's, gorging ourselves, then hiding out from the crazed bargain-hunters. So while we slobbed around the bulk of the weekend, we looked alright on Thanksgiving, anyway:
Isn't Hubby all cute and muscley in his cheapo "Superman" tee?
Have I mentioned that I'm grateful for friends who lend me their pretties? I broke out the necklace I borrowed from Squeaky awhile back (I know I have to give it back... I will...sometime…):
My mother-in-law decided to give me some of her jewelry, so I'll be posting more pretties soon.
Anyway, girding up to get back to work!
[EDITED TO ADD:] I find it funny that I picked a post for "Visible Monday" (see button at right) from a day when only family, and a few random people at gas stations, actually saw me. But wearing those brilliant jeweltones made me feel visible!
I was mildly impressed with myself… not one stone matches the top! Yet they all go.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hubby and I are on the road headed to his mother's place in the Poconos. Where my cell phone has no 3G or wireless access, so probably no posts for the next day or so. Have a good weekend, and check out the little tidbit I saved for you all:
We went to the Corning Museum of Glass last week with Hubby's friends in from PA... and I saw a fun new display:
Yep... an entire holiday dinner represented in glass! First, the appetizers:
Then, the main meal, starting with 'taters and gravy:
I just love the green beans!
Mmmmm... turkey:
This photo of the cranberry jelly doesn't show the ridges from the can... I got a grin out of that detail:
Lovely corn-on-the-cob:
Rolls, of course:
Finally, dessert:

Short but frantic workweek complete with wardrobe issues
The busy time continued... Monday, I went from work to a movie and dinner with some of the ladies from Hubby's play. I had a great time, but got home so late there was no time for a blog shot!
Stinky tried his hand at a blog shot on Tuesday:
Not bad for an almost-ten-year-old! I will have to have him tell me when my chin lies back and multiplies, though....
Clothing issues this time: with the shrunken-up sleeves on the turtleneck were solved easily by cuffing then into 3/4 length. But it did rise up a little in the back occasionally. The hanger makes the black sweater shoulders poof up a little... I just need to pick a different hanger. I solved the floodwater pants problem with really low shoes... but my feet smell vile after I've been wearing them. Suggestions?
I really love these earrings, but the right one kept catching on the turtleneck. So now my ear is sore, and I saw a little blood. But they still look awesome:
Turtleneck: VanHuesen outlet
Sweater/Jacket: Limited via consignment shop
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Nine West via garage sale
Wednesday:
I really love the beaded detail, except it is on net, and the seam scratches my chest. Fortunately, I have a top underneath that reduces the scratching so that I can endure this beauty:
The undershirt kept hiking up my abdomen... very irritating. At sometime I really need to get camis and cut them to just under the bra to avoid the distraction and/or the extra bulk. It also rides up a little in the back:
These earrings always irritate my right ear a little. Weird? Probably not the best choice, considering that's the one that bled yesterday! But they go well with the top:
Shoes:
Top: via Stein Mart
Earrings: gift from Big Daddy's mother
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Trotters

Fun, fun, fun busy weekend!
Hubby's friends came into town on Friday night to see the play, then we all went out with some of Hubby's castmates. Saturday, Hubby and I went to the museum with his friends, then we all went for a late lunch before they headed home. Next, I went for an encore of Hubbys's play along with our old intern, and we went out with some of the castmates after for dinner and drinks. My look for the day:
I had to throw in a shot of Hubby and Squeaky's hubby:
They are in "Moon Over Buffalo", and the opening scene is from "Cyrano". They were hilarious!
After rollerskating all Sunday afternoon at a Junior League family outing... I'm happy and SORE! (I forgot to get a pic taken of Stinky and I in skates with my phone, so I have to wait for the pic to be emailed to me):
Jewelry closeup:
Comfy shoes, of course:
Sweater: via Kohl's
Tee: VanHuesen outlet
Jeans. Lane Bryant
Jewelry: farmer's market
Shoes: Ariat via Sole Solutions in Spokane, WA

Wearing the closest thing to a hug
Since I can't sit home all day, wrapped in a blanket, sulking on the couch... I went with the next best thing... big cosy warm sweater, comfy knit pants, soft socks, and comfy shoes. All as black as my mood.
While Hubby isn't much of a photographer, he can make me smile:
I had a slight case of government-worker flooded pants early in the day, but since they are knit, they got longer over a few hours. I was still feeling pretty down, and couldn't concentrate on anything on this "slow day"... so I went home to rest up and cheer up. Hubby is in a play tonight, and some of friends from PA are coming to visit us tonight!
Sweater: New York & Company via consignment shop
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Ariat via Sole Solutions in Spokane, WA
Earrings: Lia Sophia
Rotten mood: courtesy of a local judge

Why did the 3-martini lunch go out of fashion?
I really needed after this morning in court... bizarrre... so no pic while at work because I cried most of my eye makeup off. Mirror-pic today:
Stinky really got a kick out of being asked to take a "butt-shot", so I can show why I've decided to get my tailor to shorten this sweater:
I love how nicely the color goes with this necklace:
The pants are different than today's in this older pic of the shoes:
Sweater: via TJ Maxx
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Trotters via defunct shoe store
Necklace: via an art museum in Jackson, Mississippi

Purple Nurple
Wow... I haven't worn this jacket in ages, and I don't know why:
I love the boucle, and I'm liking the look with this little trendy beauty. I picked up for $3 on clearance:
And hematite earrings earrings I already had match nicely, although I think I will try a different pair next time:
And shoes flat enough to avoid the "government-worker highwater" look that I usually get with these pants:
Jacket: Gianni Petite via consignment shop
Top: via Pip's in Corning, NY... I cut out the label, and forgot the name
Pants: Lane Bryant
Earrings: Lia Sophia
Necklace: Maurice's
Shoes: Nine West via garage sale

Not complaining about the unseasonably warm weather...
... even though it delays my posting of my "new" sweaters courtesy of Freeda's purge pile. I'm sure you will see them soon enough!
Instead, I decided to try a new combo of older pieces:
The jacket "reads" gray at a distance, but is actually black-and-white tight weave. Last time I wore it, it was hanging off me. But numerous McDonald's hot caramel sundaes later: it fits again!
I'm experimenting with the peplum, pinning it down because it sticks out funny. See before:
So, should I sew it down? [Edited to add: I accidently deleted the photo showing the peplum pleats pinned down, but I've decided to give up on the jacket and donate it... so I'm not going to bother with a new photo]
Basic earrings, but new, at least:
I know I wear these a ton, but they are soooo comfy:
Jacket: Worthington from JC Penney
Top: Lane Bryant
Pants: Lane Bryant
Necklace: Fashion Bug
Earrings: Lia Sophia
Shoes: Ariat via Sole Solutions in Spokane, WA

Yes, I'm a lazy bum...
... who hasn't been blogging due to numerous laziness factors: 1. I put off mending until I was down to two pair of wearable work pants, 2. I've been sucked into streaming Netflix, 3. (I've been trying to scrub the extra dye out of my hair... the last coloring went a bit too dark.
So the mending is done, and the haircolor isn't quite as scary, so back to the posting:
The top is still a bit tight, but it looks okay under a jacket:
I got these for $2 on clearance, but I'm not sure they aren't a bit "much" for me... your vote?
And shoes, so I don't get banned from public buildings:
Top: via Stein Mart
Jacket: VanHuesen outlet
Pants: Lane Bryant
Shoes: Bass
Earrings: via BonTon
Necklace: gift from an ex
